The marriage of Miss Doris Midgley daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Midgley, of 47, York Street. Mexborough, to Mr. James White, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. White, of 40, Herringthorpe Valley Road, Rotherham, took place at Mexborough Parish Church.

The service was choral, and the organist was Mr. P. Webb. The bride was given away by her father and wore a gown of white satin beaute with veil and wreath of orange blossom and pearl coronet She carried cream roses and fern.

Her bridesmaids were Misses Alice Henson in blue Victorian dress, Marjorie Bolden and Edith Beacham in pink net dresses and Joyce Midgley and Audrey White in pink Victorian style dresses. All carried of sweet peas.

The best man was Mr Alan White and the groomsman, Mr. Harold Beldam. The bride’s mother wore a London tan dress with hat to tone, and the bridegroom’s mother a blue crepe dress with hat to tone. A reception was held by the bride’s parents at the Scout Hut, Dolcliffe Road, Mexborough
