A Pretty Mexboro’ Wedding

The marriage took place at the Congegational Church, Mexboro’ on Tuesday Afternoon of Miss Agnes Mary Lee, youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. R, Lee  of “Waveney” Adwick Road, Mexboro’, to Mr. Cedric James Cramp, only son of Mr. A. Cramp, “Holmhurst,” Mexboro’

Both families are well known in Mexboro’ and district, and the wedding was attended by a large number of friends. The service, which was conducted by the Rev. R. Lee. M.A. assisted by the Rev. J. W. Lee (both uncles of the bride) and the Rev. W. Simpson, Congregational minister at Mexboro’, was choral.

Mr. W. Grainger, F.R.C.O. organist of St. Mark’s, Sheffield, was at the organ. and the hymns, “O Father, All-creating” and “O Love divine and golden” were sung.

The bride,  who was given away by her father, was attired in a very graceful gown of ivory chiffon, the petalled skirt of which reached to her ankles. Her veil, which was richly embroidered, was secured by a wreath of orange blossom, and her train was, trimmed with orange blossom and lovers. knots. She wore a necklace of pearls and carried a sheaf of white lilies.

She was attended by three bridesmaids, Miss Dorothy Lee  (sister). Miss Edna Cramp (sister of bridegroom), and Miss Margaret Myles (cousin of the bride), and. by her small nephew,  Peter Lee.
