Mr. A. Hyde (Mexborough) and Miss M. Batteson (Swinton).

The marriage was solemnised last Wednesday at Swinton Parish Church of Miss Muriel E. Batteson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs G. F. Batteson, 58, Temperance Street, Swinton, and Mr. Albert Hyde, son of Mrs. Hyde and the late Mr. T. Hyde, of 78, Church Street, Mexborough.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a smart blue costume, with navy blue accessories. and a spray of red roses. She was attended by Miss Eveline Adlington and Mrs. Barbara Scholes, who had chosen check costumes, with maroon and grey accessories, and wore sprays of pink carnations. The bridegroom’s gifts to the attendants were powder compacts.

Later the couple left for a honeymoon at Blackpool, the bride travelling in a blue coat with navy blue accessories. The bridegroom is a C.Q.M.S in the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Among the gifts was one from the staff of the Roxy Cinema, where the bride has been employed.
