Wath 219 Mexborough 87 for 7

Mexboro’ were without the services of Laurie Burkinshaw on Saturday, and were sadly handicapped for want of an effective bowler.

Wath, playing at home on a perfect wicket, took heavy toll of what bowling there was, and for the second week in succession ran up a double hundred. Not bad, that, for a purely second team. C. Turner, for the second week in succession got into the second fifty, and Sam Lincoln was top scorer of the match with 6S. These two shared the batting honours between them.

Wath made the mistake of batting through the innings, and Nicholson and Hobson were able to bat long enough to ensure a draw.
