“Times Walk”
“The Finest Move Ever Made.”
New Secretary Appointed

A meeting of the “Times” Walk Executive Committee was out at the Red Lion Hotel, Mexborough on Tuesday evening. Mr F Woffenden (Mexborough) presided.

The secretary (Mr J Upton) presented a statement of finances in regard to the promotion of the annual catwalks on Easter Monday. This, he explained, did not take into account the money collected along the route of the walks. Funds saw raised went direct to the Old People movements of Wombwell, Wath and Mexborough.

Mr Thompson make complementary reference to the work of the secondary, and expressed satisfaction at the manner in which the events were conducted.

What appealed to him perhaps more than anything else, he said, was the spirit of good fellowship that prevailed among the delegates from the various districts. To come to their meetings was like meeting old friends in it each year end and look forward to the time and they will see each other again. That was the spirit that made life worth living.

As for the event itself it had been a great success from the beginning and there was no doubt that in the future, as in the past, will be looked upon as one of the most popular features of the local sports calendar.
