A representative rostrum in the Mexborough Primitive Methodist Church on Sunday combining church and sport.

The Reverend CH Randell – himself the  holder  of medals gained in most of the better-known branches of sport – conducting the sportsman Service which he organised; with football represented on his right by Messrs Long and WP Marsden, of the Mexborough Athletic Club, and cricket on his left by Messrs E Popplewell (captain) and E Cummins (player) of the Bradford cricket club.
