Private W. White

aged 20, son of Mr and Mrs W White of 1, Raikes Street, Mexborough, has been killed in action in France.
He enlisted in November 1914, and went to Gallipoli in September 1915. Two days before the evacuation of Sulva Bay he was invalided home with trench feet, and later at Whitby underwent an operation for hernia.
He went to France in August, 1916, and had been there four months when he was killed. Prior to enlistment he was employed at the Don Glass Bottle Works.
