One of Our Own Lads

Serving with the Royal Artillery is Mr. Harold Briggs, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Briggs, 21, Grenfell Avenue, Mexborough, and former member of the clerical staff of the “Times” Printing Company, Ltd. Mr. Briggs, who has been with the ‘Times” Company nine years, joined up during the first week of the war.

His father was with the Royal Engineers for three and half years during the prevuious war, and saw service overseas. Mr. Briggs, an enthusiastic tennis player, was at one time assistant secretary to the “Times” Sports Club.

He is a grandson of Mrs. Kay, for many years schoolmistress at Old Denaby, and for the present is “somewhere in England.”
