Schoolgirls’ Effort.

On behalf of the local Comforts Fund, Doreen Burton (11), of 6, Helena Street, Mexborough, and her friends, by tinting and selling paper d’oyleys, have raised £5.

The individual amounts raised by the children are:

Doreen and Shirley Burton and Margaret Brown, £2 16s.; Betty and Brian Hague, £1; Betty Brown, £1; Jean Towers 4s.

At the Comforts Fund Fayre on Saturday the children realised a further £3 10s., a total of £8 10s.
