May 1927

Mexborough and Swinton Times May 20, 1927

Commandant Evans, who has been in charge of the Consett Corps of the Salvation Army for the last 12 months, began his new duties at Mexborough last weekend.

Commandant Evans, who has been a Salvation Army officer for 27 years, had experience before Consett at Anfield Plain.

At Consett he had had busy time, and during the coal stoppage, took an active part in the relief of distress.

He has also actively interested himself in the local police Court and the reclamation of bad characters.
