Mexborough put up a good fight out Millmoor and Rotherham had to fight hard to win.

On two or three occasions Best was lucky to stop the ball from going the net. Rotherham had three first team men in Turner. Bailey and Hemmingway, but despite this Mexborough gave Best some work.

In the first half Mexborough were as much on the defensive as Rotherham with the home team having slightly the better of midfield play.

A draw at the interval represented the run of the game. However in the half Rotherham certainly deserved there goals. Parkin was the scorer in both cases.
