Promoted Inspector

A Former Mexborough man has been appointed inspector in the west Yorkshire police at Pudsey, Mr. Roy Brook (42). Whose mother, Mrs Florence Brook, lives at 36, Park Road, Mexborough, has been in the West Riding and Yorkshire  Constabulary for 20 years.

He started his career in Mexborough after working for British Rail and his two years national service. From Mexborough he moved to Wombwell. He was promoted sergeant on being moved to Baildon eight years ago. Now he has taken up his duties as inspector at Pudsey. Mr. brook has a wife Nora and two daughters, Mrs. Susan Grange (20), and Gillian Brooke (17).

His mother told the south Yorkshire times this week “I am very proud of his achievements: he has done extremely well,”
