Mexborough is shortly to lose a prominent and popular personality following the promotion of Inspector Samuel Redfern to the rank of Superintendent. As from next Wednesday he will take charge of the Otley Division of the West Riding Constabulary.

Inspector Redfern has been in charge of the Mexborough Division for nearly ten years and in that time has proved himself a most efficient and courteous officer.
