Players Banned after Fisticuffs in FA Cup match

An important meeting of the Divisional Committee of the F.A. Council was held at Sheffield Thursday week, to consider our report by Mr. T. Garner, referee (Barnsley) bearing upon an unpleasant incident in the second re-play between Denaby United and Mexborough in the F.A. Cup.

Nimrod, of Denaby, and Murray, of Mexborough, came to fisticuffs, and, the facts being proved. Nimrod was suspended tor a fortnight, and Murray for month.

The committee further considered that there was no justification for the charge of incompetency made Mr. Dunn, secretary of Denaby United, against the referee.
