Obituary.

Stead – the funeral of Mr. Robert Charles Stead (82), one of Mexborough’s oldest residents, took place at Mexborough this week, the rev G. H. Bedford officiating.

Mr. and Mrs. Stead celebrated their Golden wedding in January, 1924.

Mr. Stead was a native of Wakefield, and was employed as a boat builder by Messrs. Scholey, Mexborough.

The couple had lived in Mexborough. 49 years, and have had 13 children, of whom two sons were killed in the war. Mrs Stead is 79.
