New Pastor at Mexborough Church

January 1927

Mexborough and Swinton Times, January 28, 1927

At the annual meeting of the Mexborough Free Christian Church on Sunday evening it was unanimously decided to invite the Rev Kenneth Bond, of St Helens, to be pastor of the Mexborough church, in succession to the Rev E.W. Hill, now of Lancaster.

Mr Bond was born at Cuttack, Bengal, where his grandfather was a Baptist missionary. Educated in England, Mr Bond returned to India, and later went to Tasmania. After a short stay there, he returned to England, and entered the Baptist College at Nottingham, and was trained for the Baptist ministry.

He has since held pastorate at Desford, Leicestershire, Leicester, Chesterfield and St Helens. Painting is his hobby and he has exhibited occasionally at the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
