Mr. William Squirrel Pettit, son of Mr. W. S. Pettit, of the Park Hotel, Mexborough, has been appointed manager of the Bodega Hotel and Restaurant, Sheffield.

Mr. Pettit formerly assisted his father, and two years ago he was appointed assistant manager of the Bodega, Birmingham, and was later transferred in a similar capacity to Cardiff. He has since acted as relief manager in Dundee, Edinburgh, and London, and as assistant manager at Eastbourne, from whence he has been transferred to Sheffield, where he is in charge of a staff of thirty.

While at Mexboro’ he was a keen sportsman and played goal for Mexboro’ Thursday the season they won the Thursday Amateur League. He also played tennis for the Harlington Lane Club. He is one of the best amateur billiards players in the district.
