New Hippodrome

Mr Gee Roy-Dellhio, manager of the New Hippodrome Theatre, Mexborough, has returned to the “Variety Control” Theatre’s headquarters at Manchester and his place was taken Monday by Mr HW Routledge from Doncaster. Mr Routledge is particularly well-known in Rotherham, for several years he was on the managerial staff of the Empire Theatre.

The recent reduction of price at the New Hippodrome has resulted in a great increase in the audiences, and last week’s circus brought record attendances throughout the week.

The management wish to state that there is absolutely no truth in rumours heard in various parts of the town that the New Hippodrome has either changed hands or is closing down, and Capt S Meredith-Metcalfe is still the managing director and Lessee
