New Headmaster at Dolcliffe Road
Pupil Becomes “Head”
Mr. W. Winstanley, who retired from the headship of the Dolcliffe Road School, Mexborough, in May, after 30 years’ teaching service in the town, welcoming a former pupil, Mr. Douglas Smith, as his successor.
Mr. Smith, who is a Mexborough man, obtained his secondary education at this school, continued his training at the Mexborough Secondary School and Westminster College and has for the last four years been head of the Tadcaster Council School, and on the opening of the new term on Monday morning took over the post of head teacher of his first school.
