Motor Drivers Fined At Doncaster.
For driving a motor-car to the danger of the public at Armthorpe while on a visit to the Doncaster races on September 12th, George Pennock, taxi driver and general dealer, of York, was fined £10 at the Doncaster West Riding Police Court yesterday. His licence was ordered to be endorsed.
An Armthorpe miner, George Herring, said that he was walking on the grass verge of the road, wheeling his cycle, when the defendant’s motor-car crashed into him from behind. The cycle had arear reflector.
Defendant’ admitted that he had only oil lamps.
Said to have rounded a corner at from 15 to 20 miles per hour and crashed into a car going up Castle Hill, Conisborough, on September 26th, George H. Sutcliffe (19), a Mexborough bank clerk, was fined £5 for driving a motor-car to the danger of the. public.
