Mons Ribbon Not Won.

A fine of 20s. was yesterday at Rotherham imposed on Arthur Agar (21), Mexborough, for wearing a false military decoration.

On March 6th Police-constable Lewis saw the defendant displaying a Mons ribbon. When asked about the ribbon, he said he had got it six months ago. He was told he would have go to the ’police station, and he then took the ribbon off. He subsequently admitted he had no right to wear the decoration.

He joined the army and went to France in June, 1917, and returned in August, 1917. Defendant told the Court was two years and nine months in the Army. He had belonged to Labour battalion, but could not work owing to defective eyesight.

He was now receiving 29d. out of work donation from the Labour Exchange.
