Mexborough’s Feast Of Music
Promising Mexboro’ Boy

The violin section produced the first Mexboro’ medal-winner in the history of the festival. Frank Moxon, of Church Street, who won the open class. Mr. Cooke commented on his firm technique and the freedom of his bowing arm, while mentioning that his tone was not always quite clear.
The adjudicators regretted that the violin classes were not stronger. and Dr. Staton urged that violin playing should not be allowed to lapse, and that every encouragement be given young children to study the instrument.
