Mexborough Forging Headway.

Mexborough Town, notwithstanding the insufficiency of financial support, are having good season from a playing point of view, and look like finishing in the first half-dozen of tho league.

On Saturday they an emphatic victory at the expense of Lincoln City Reserve, who were beaten by the convincing margin of four goals to none. Lincoln gave a remarkably good show in the first half, with Reid the leader of a series of well conceived attacks. Had these movements been pushed to their proper issue Mexborough would have had no easy task. But with the visitors failing to score when the game was open, and Mexborough getting in front, there was really only ono team in it in the concluding moiety, when Mexborough took the game into their hands and did pretty much they liked.

The goals were equally shared by Wathey and Tomlinson, the Town extreme wingers, the inside forwards, Connelly included, being weak at close quarters. Much of Mexborough’s success was duo to the superiority of the home halves, who, with Davidson as the star, were always in the picture with good work. Further behind, Crump. Murray and Rounds constituted a reliable defence.
