Mexborough Old Boys

The first winners of the championship shield of the new Mexborough Intermediate League competition, in the section for youths of 16 to 18 years, are Mexborough old boys, the team in the photo.

The players are King, Winstanley, Seagrave, Hopkinson, Sanderson, Langsey (back); Gill, Beeson, Jeavons, Thomas, Wilbourn, Walker (front)

This new organisation owes much to Mr Charles Bisby, was largely managed the team, and to Mr Ben prize, the chairman of the committee.

In their league programme the team was beaten only once, by New Stubbin, who were runners-up. In the test match between first two teams for the additional medals they were again beaten by New Stubbin.
