Mexborough Hippodrome – New Manager

December 1928

Mexborough and Swinton Times December 14, 1928

Mr. Henry Morris Farrington has been appointed manager of the Mexborough Hippodrome in succession to the late Mr. G. E. Ashton and took up his duties this week.

He has an extensive knowledge of the producing side of the theatrical business and of management. Mr. Farrington is a native of Bradford, and has been interested in theatres all his life.

For several years before the war he assisted Mr. T. Holden, of the Harrogate Empire, in the management and in producing reviews for tour. During that time, Mr. Farrington had a thorough training in producing and stage managing.

He served four years in France with the Army, and again became associated with Mr. Holden. For the past six years he has been manager of the Pontefract Picture House, which is owned by Mr. Holden, and has continued to assist at Harrogate.
