Mexborough Athletii completed the “double” over Wombwell by winning 2—1 at Mexborough. Aided the strong wind, the home side attacked repeatedly and scored through Bolen and Annables in the first half.

Wombwell improved in the second half. Best, who made several great saves in the home coal, had the misfortune to pull down the ball from a corner kick into his own goal.

Chesterfield Res. drew 3—3 with Denaby United, at Saltergate, fielding a side which included two players trial in Weily, back, and F. Bell, left-half. Two forwards. H. Egan and R. Gore, were promoted from the Derbyshire League team.

Abel (two) and Urwin scored for Chesterfield, and Adams (two) and Black for Denaby.

Denabv had a sound defence, and Newman, Sheffield junior, made encouraging debut at centre-half. Adams was thrustful leader.
