Mexborough  96  Mitchell Main 109 for 6

Mexborough suffered their first home defeat at the hands of Mitchell Main.

The home team batted and Nicholson and Carlin gave them a good start, but, except for Machin the rest or the team failed badly and were all out for 96. Nevertheless, Mexborough would have had a fair chance of victory but for the brilliance of Colin Kilner, well supported by Senior. Kilner hit freely, and was undefeated at the close with 64. He had complete command of the bowling and batted in polished style. He may yet, prove the greatest of a splendid trio of brothers.

Mitchell Main won with four wickets to spare. Carlin and Hobson for Mexborough had fair bowling figures, with three wickets apiece.
