Mexborough were well beaten Hampden Road by the leaders the league, Notts County Reserves.

Mexborough started spirited fashion hut just after the interval when the referee had given Notts somewhat doubtful penalty, Mexborough seemed lose interest in the game and from that moment the game was Nottingham’s.

Kennedy was one of the outstanding players in the Mexborough side and Sylvester, who took the place of right back, played a safe game.

Widdowson (penalty), Sullivan, and Kelly scored. The crowd was about 4.000, one of the best seen at Mexborough this season.
