    Knur and Spell Match.

    A long knock match for a stake of £150 was decided Saturday on Green’s Grounds, Hoyland Common.

    The players were; W. Tate. Mexborough, Gus Utley, Frickley, G. Street, Wombwell.

    Tate, who was the least fancied the three, ran out a winner six yards, his longest knock being 12 score 9 yards 1 foot 3 inches. Street was second, sending 12 score 3 yards ft., and Utley, who was the favourite, sent 12 score 2 yards 2 inches.
