The Hickleton Club has elected another Mexboro’ man as captain, Mr. Harry Chambers succeeding Mr. A. H. Woodrow and there are many more captains to be had where those two came from. In recent years, thanks to pioneer work by the late Mr. Arthur Bowerman, the Hickleton club has gathered a fine membership in and around Mexborough, and it is to that district that the club now chiefly looks for support. The new captain is a very enthusiastic golfer and s wonderfully improved player. Among other things he is the golf champion of the Mexboro’ Rotary Club which, by the way, includes two golf captains in its membership, Mr. Chambers and Mr W. P. Turner, who is captain of the Rotherham club. Perhaps we shall now get an official fixture between these two clubs.
