Chatted With Viceroy

Mr. and Mrs. E. Storey, 14, Kirby Street, Mexborough, were pleasantly surprised to receive a cutting from a daily newspaper, showing the Viceroy of India, Lord Louis Mountbatten chatting with a member of the guard from the 1st Battalion Royal Scot Fusiliers before entering  the Viceregal Lodge, New Delhi.

The guardsman was their son, Private Joseph Storey who has been in India about 16 months. Pte. Storey says in his letter that Lord Louis asked him several questions and was interested in his travels, for Joseph has been in Holland and Germany. He has been in the Army nearly three years and has spent most of that time overseas,
