here is one of the mnemonics of the railroad, the famous Silver link locomotive which is known the world over for its advanced and elegant design and the notable performances which it has to its credit. One of the massive railroad giants of this type will be among the exhibits at the railway exhibition which is to be held at Mexborough on April 22nd and 23rd it is confidently helped that as a result of the exhibition a useful cheque will be handed over to the Montagu hospital, and those who patronize the exhibition, in addition to helping and extremely wavy course, will have an unusual opportunity of examining at close quarters many of the marvels of British Railways which had so often taken for granted.

In addition to several types of locomotives which will be on view there will be representative types of rolling stock, and skilled men will be on hand to explain all the details of the intricate machinery and two point out the many brilliantly conceived devices which Make British Railways the safest and most efficient in the world. One particularly interesting exhibit will be the L.N.E.R.signal and Telegraph departments demonstration van. This man is intended for the instruction of signal and Telegraph linesman and four members of the various operating classes throughout the area. It constitutes a school of an unusual kind which can be taken to the students. For the less serious minded there will be opportunities for joyriding unveil hand cars and many sideshows of an appropriate but divert in character. Visitors will be allowed to mount the foot plates of famous locomotives, such as the one illustrated and the mammoth Garrett locale, and also to pass through the numerous vehicles on view, while the chairman of the L.N.E railway o. Sir Ronald Matthews, has stated that he will personally take part in the opening ceremony.

Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23, should certainly see crowds reminiscent of those attracted by cup final excursion trains making their way down to the L.N.E.R goods yard, Swinton mode, where the exhibition is to be staged.

The exhibition will include the “Kingfisher”, streamline engine of the Silver link type, a Sandringham class engine, “Sheffield Unite” a locale instruction van, a signalling demonstration van, an old saloon carriage, an electric cooking car, a first-class sleeping car, (and third class), a first and third class Pullman, a petrol driven plate layers Charlie, a steam breakdown crane, a camping couch, an invalid saloon, a new type saloon, a buffet car, latest type of horsebox, and a Garratt engine. There will also be other attractions and competitions, and a signal box will be open for inspection on Sunday only.
