Mexborough were outplayed by Bradford City Reserves, at Valley Parade, being beaten by 7—1. Medley, who was a dashing leader, scored five of the home team’s goals, the others being obtained Bainbridge (penalty) and J. S. Smith.

Hargreaves replied for Mexborough, who had a very shaky defence.

Denaby “Hat Trick.”

Denaby, who have not played at home for three weeks, delighted their supporters with a 4—1 win over Rotherham United Reserves. The margin by no means flatters the winners, the Rotherham goal had a number of narrow escapes.

A brilliant solo effort Siddall brought Denaby’s first goal, while Adams did the “hat-trick.” McCormick scored for Rotherham. In the last quarter of hour Denaby had only ten men. Smith going off injured.

Frickley Colliery  4  Wombwell  1

Taking advantage weak defence, Frickley Colliery beat their neighbours, Wombwell, 4—1 at South Elmsall, and improved considerably their chance of escaping relegation.

After Briggs had given Wombwell the lead, Gibson and Oakes, who gave sparkling displays in the Frickley forward line, scored two goals each.
