Betty Smith – Steady Recovery

Her many friends in and around Mexborough will be happy to know that Mrs. Norman Linton (formerly Betty Smith) of Windsor, Princess Road, Mexboro’, is making steady recovery from her recent serious illness.

Mrs. Linton made her first “public” appearance for nearly ten months when on Friday evening, behind the scenes at Dearne Operatic Society’s production of “New Moon,” she was presented’ with bouquets, by Mrs. Jessie Sayle on behalf of her former dancing class, and by Mrs. F. E. Vernon, on behalf of the Society and officials.

Mrs. Linton had been dancing mistress for the Society’s productions from 1936 until the time of her illness, and it was by special invitation that she went over to Goldthorpe to receive these tokens of allection.
