The Real Burkinshaw

Mexborough Getting Into Their Stride.

Bentley 68           Mexborough 214 for 4

The sudden return to form of Laurie Burkinshaw appears likely to set Mexborough on a new way, and at Bentley on Saturday they gave a masterful all round exhibition and swamped the opposition.

Burkinshaw and Broadhead put on a fine first wicket stand and Burkinshaw hit 12 fours in his 75. To cap it he then went on to take four Bentley wickets for 38 runs.

When he had finished his turn Wadsworth completed the business by running through the Bentley tail in unceremonious fashion. The batsmen managed to hit three runs off him while he took his five wickets with 16 deliveries!

This is easily was his best performance to date in cricket. For all round wick Laurie Burkinshaw too, put up one of his best performances in Yorkshire Council games.
