Barnsley British Co-operative Society’s Butchery

Here, with its shining frontage of new glass and vitriolite, is the Barnsley British Co-operative Society’s latest butchery department shop in Adwick Road, Mexborough.

Fuller details of the new shop were given in our last issue, but the remarkable popularity which the shop has so rapidly acquired could hardly have been estimated, for since it was opened last Friday, there has been a continuous run of patronage.

This photograph gives some idea of the smart, clean appearance of the department. The interior is finished in black, white and pale green, and the store includes a modern refrigerator in its up-to-date equipment, though new supplies are brought from headquarters each day.

The store adjoins the existing grocery branch in Adwick Road.

A price list of this week’s offers at the Mexborough and other butchering department branches of the “Barnsley British” will be found on page fourteen of this issue.
