News From Berlin.

A talented Mexboro’ pianist, Bandsman George Ryder, who is now stationed in the heart of Berlin, playing with the band of the 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, writes to say he has had an audition with a view to broadcasting on the British Forces’ network.

He expects to be “on the air” in about three weeks’ time. “I was told I should be going to Broadcasting House to make recordings and also to broadcast all the time I shall be there,” he writes.

Bandsman Ryder receives the “Times” from his mother, who lives at 48, Frederick Street, and says it “brings back happy memories.” He is now the proud father of a son, and his wife resides at Mal a range ton, Yorks.
