One-Act Plays

Mr Harry Dobson, Mexborough Theatre Guild producer was telling me on Tuesday that the societies next production will be Kenneth Horne’s “Love In a Mist” in May, but their immediate venture will be the production at Schofield Technical College on March 26 of three one act plays, “The Price of Coal, (Harold Brighouse), -“The Dear Departed’ (Stanley Houghton), and “The First and the Last” (Galsworthy).

Behind this evening’s entertainment is an interesting experiment Mr. Dobson explained that the players in these one act plays will be members of the Theatre Guild who have not played much in the Society’s major productions, and it is hoped that the experience they will gain in these productions will bring them forward for part in major productions as they show promise.
