The Countess Dowager of Mexborough died  at Brighton on Sunday, in the eighty-eighth year of her age.

Her ladyship was the eldest daughter of Philip, third Earl of Hardwicke, and leaves surviving issue John, fourth Earl of Mexborough, the Hon. and Rev. Philip Yorke Savile, and Lady Sarah Elizabeth, married to General the Hon. James Lindsay, second son of the late Earl of Crawford.

By her ladyship’s demise, the families of Hardwicke, Caledon, Warwick, Somers, and many others are placed in mourning.
