This photograph, sent to us by Mrs. E. Wall, of 32, Main Street, Mexborough, will recall memories of the last war to many Mexborough and district residents.

Women’s football then became a feature of local sport, and this picture of some of the organisers at the Mexborough Carriage Cleaners’ team who opposed the Loco staff, includes amongst others Coun. H. Gough, Mrs. Naggs (N.U.R.), and Misses Kate and Myra Smeaton, sisters of Mrs. Wall.
