Whole Life Devoted to Butchery Business
The interment took place at Mexborough on Boxing Day of Mr George Henry Waxman Wagstaff (63), 138a Doncaster Rd, Mexborough, who died on December 22.
Mr Wagstaff left school at 13 and became a butcher. His whole life was devoted to his butchery business.
He served on the Food Control Committee in the first world war and was Mexborough butcher’s representative on the Committee throughout the last war.
Closely connected with Mexborough Butcher’s Buying and Allocation Committee, he was elected chairman of the death of Mr Herbert Lowe, and was the only surviving member.
