Mr. J. H. Haime (Trebarris) and Miss D. B. Wood (Mexborough).
The marriage was solemnised at the Trinity Methodist Church. Mexborough, on Saturday. of Miss Dorothy B. Wood, second daughter of Mr. F. L. Wood and the late Mrs. Wood, of ” Landsdown.” Cemetery Road, Mexborough. and Mr. John H. Haime, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. T. Haime. of 26. Windsor Place, Treharris.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Greaves, LL.B.. of Hyde, assisted by Pastor Harrison, of Denaby. The service was choral and the hymns ” O God of Love to Thee we bow ” and ” O Happy Home where Thou art Loved the Dearest,’ .were sung, with Miss E. Sanderson. F.V.C.M., at the organ.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white dress cut on modern lines with bodice of satin beaute. skirt of georgette, and overdress and sleeves of lace .She had a veil and and carried a bouquet of cream roses. Her bridesmaid was Miss Lorna Wood. her sister, who attired in a blue floral gown of Judy voile and carried a shower bouquet of carnations. Mr. T. George, B.Sc., of Hayes. Middlesex, was best man, and the brother of the bride. Mr. F. Loxley Wood. of Carlisle, was groomsman.
After a reception at the home of the bride the couple left for their honeymoon which is being spent in Derbyshire. the bride travelling in a blue silk two-piece with shoes and hat to tone.
The bridegroom is serving in the Royal Navy and previously a member of the staff of the Methodist School, Witney, where the bride also taught for four years prior to taking up her present position on the staff of the Dolcliffe Road School, Mexborough. The bride and bridegroom received a silver cakestand and chromium fruit servers from the bride’s collegues anda substantial cheque from the scholars, old pupils, and staff at Witney.
