The wedding took place at Kilnhurst Parish Church of Miss Miriam Windle, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Windle, of 64, Charles Street, Kilnhurst, and Mr. William H. Ibbotson, youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ibbotson, of Mexborough.
The Rev. E. J. Cheverton officiated.
The bride looked charming in blue satin with veil and wreath, and carried pink chrysanthemums. The bridesmaids were Miss Selina Edwards and Miss Gladys Bluck, who were both dressed in pink taffeta with head-dresses to match. They carried posies of anemones. The best man was Mr. Harold Lindley, and the groomsman Mr. Raymond Whitehead. The bride’s mother wore a wine coloured dress with hat and coat to tone.
The bridegroom is serving in H.M. Forces. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The couple were the recipients of many presents and many letters of congratulations. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr. Enoch Windle.
