The wedding took place on Saturday at Mexborough Trinity Methodist Church of L/Ac.W. Nellie Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Taylor, of 33, Garden Street. Mexborough and Sergt. Arthur Blakemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Blakemore, of 68, Frederick Street, Mexborough.

Given away by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of ivory figured cloque cut on mediaeval lines with a gold necklace, the bridegroom’s gift to her. Her veil was held by orange blossom. and she carried red carnations.

Miss Florence Jones of the W.A.A.F., and Miss Gwendoline Alice Boreham of the A.T.S., were bridesmaids and wore gowns of pink floral taffeta with rosebud head-dresses and short veil. The maids, who carried pink carnations received silver stamp cases from the bridegroom.

Best man was Mr. Charles Edward Popplewell, and groomsman Mr. Raymond Blakemore. The couple left for a honeymoon at Whitley Bay, the bride travelling in a powder blue angora coat with hat and shoes to tone. The bride and bridegroom received a case of cutlery from the staff of Huddersfield Technical College.
