Miss Margaret Jones Silvester, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Sylvester, of Andsell Road, Blackpool, was married at Mexborough Parish Church on Monday to PC George Mitton, youngest son Of Mr and Mrs H Mitton, of Burley Road, Leeds. The Rev E. H. Rawlins officiated at the Choral service. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a white satin beaut gown with sleeves and collar embroidered with orange blossom, her veil and coronet were of orange blossom, and she carried Easter lilies, tulips, narcissi and maidenhair fern. Her attendants were Mrs Betty Silvester and Miss Jean Mitton, and a page boy, Frank kime, wore a white satin suit and carried a horseshoe. The bridesmaids wore blue ankle length taffeta dresses trimmed with pink, and capes of blue trained with blue and pink velvet leaves. He carried muffs, and the bridegroom’s gifts to the bridesmaids were gold bracelets. The best man was Mr Jack Heald, of Leeds, and the groomsmen Mr Harry Silvester and Mr Horace Mitton. The bride’s mother wore an air force blue three-piece costume, and the bridegroom’s mother a grey and white coat and navy dress. The honeymoon is being spent at London. The bride travelled in a green three-piece costume with London tan hat and shoes to tone.
