Mr. F. Dudhill (Mexborough) and Miss S. I. Mitchell (Mexborough).
The marriage took place at Mexborough Parish Church on Boxing Day of Miss Susie Irene Mitchell, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Mitchell, 30, Hampden Road. Mexborough, and Mr. Frederick Dudhill, youngest son of Mrs. And the late Mr. J. H. Dudhill, 15, Don View, Mexborough.
The bride, who was given away by her father was attired in a gown of white georgette and lace cut on classical lines.Her veil was held by a coronet of white feathers and orange blossom, and her bouquet was of cream chrysanthemums.
Attending the bride were Miss Doris Briscoe in blue net and lace, Miss Gwen Starkie and Miss Kathleen Thompson in pink net and lace, and Miss Peggy Wilkinson and Miss Ada Chadfield in pink lace over pink satin. The maids all wore head-dresses with veils, and gloves to tone with their ensembles, and their gifts from the bridegroom were gold bangles
Mr. J. L. Dudhill was best man and Mr. A. Mitchell groomsman. The couple later left for Bristol, the bride travelling in a silver musquash coat over a grey dress. The bridegroom, now serving as a Lance-Corporal in the R.A.O.C., received a bedspread and an electric fire from former colleagues at British Westfalite, Ltd., Denaby. A walnut coffee table and a set of jugs was received from the bride’s workmates at Edgar Allen’s Ltd.
