At Mexborough Parish Church, on Monday, the wedding took place of Miss Joan Violet James, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert James, of 44, Cowper Road, Mexborough, and Mr. George Cyril Street, son of .Mr. and Mrs. Sam Street, of 52, Park Road, Mexborough.

An ivory satin gown with a veil surmounted by a wreath of orchids was worn by the bride who was given away by her father, and carried dark red carnations.

Attending her were Miss G. M. Street, the bridegroom’s sister, Miss M. James, Miss Sally Whitworth and Miss Beryl James. The best man was Mr. Roy James, brother of the bride, and Mr. Leslie Deakin was groomsman.

The honeymoon is being spent at Blackpool.
