Mexborough and Swinton Times December 30, 1939
Miss Norah Patricia Doreen Huey, younger daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. J. Huey, Ash Mount, Mexborough, was married at Mexborough Parish Church on Tuesday to Mr. John Frederick Falwasser, son of Mr. J. F. Falwasser, and the late Mrs. Falwasser, of Kexborough, near Barnsley.
The Vicar of Mexborough, the Rev. E. H. P. Rawlins, officiated, and Mr. P. Webb was at the organ. The best man was Mr. S. J. A. Ford (London).
Given away by her father, Dr. J. J. Huey, who is Medical Officer of Health at Mexborough, and has been in the practice in Mexborough for very many years, the bride wore a smart ice-blue two piece trimmed with ermine, and hat to match. She had a spray of orchids.
Her mother was in black coat, trimmed with Persian lamp, and black hat with osprey, and wore a spray of pink carnations.
A reception was held at Ash Mount, and the bride and bridegroom later left for Scotland, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride travelled in a brown check tweed costume with coat and hat to match. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a silver fox fur, and the bride’s gift to the bridegroom a trouser press.
The staff of Gaumont British Equipments, Ltd., with whom the bride has been associated for the past four years, gave her a barometer, and the bridegroom received a clock from colleagues on the staff of Vauxhall Motors, Ltd.
