Wedding : Hobson & Hobson

The wedding took place on Saturday at Mexborough Parish Church of Miss Edith Hobson, the youngest daughter of Mrs.  and the late Mr. J. L. Hobson, 49, Dodsworth Stret, Mexborough and Mr. Walter Edmund Hobson, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Hobson of Stainforth, and late of Mexborough.

The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. D. Hobson, was charmingly attired in white lace over taffeta, with veil and wreath of orange blossom and carried pink roses. She was attended by Mrs. Joan Oxley, Thelma Oxley, Barbara Hobson, and Margaret Hobson. The two elder bridesmaids were attired in ice blue taffeta with net overdresses trimmed with black velvet, while the younger wore ice blue taffeta and pink lace over taffeta respectively. All carried cream roses and sweet peas and had veils and head-dresses to match.

The bridegroom’s gifts to the bridesmaids were gold signet rings.  Best man was Mr. H. Hobson (Bradford) and groomsman Mr. T. Morgan (Peterborough).  The honeymoon is being spent at Blackpool, the bride travelling in a Lincoln green two piece with fawn jigger coat and black accessories. Presents included a canteen of cutlery from the staff of the “South Yorkshire Times” Printing Co. Ltd., where the bride has been employed for the past ten years.
