At the Mexborough Parish Church on Wednesday, Miss Emily Green, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Green, Field Grove. Belmont Street, Mexborough, was married to Mr. T. J. Tyas Guest, a member of the marble engraving firm of Messrs. Tyas and Guest. Swinton, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Guest, “Rhynda.” Rowms Lane, Swinton.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Pierce Price, Vicar of Arksey, formerly curate-in-charge of St.George’s Church, Mexborough.
The bridegroom is a member of the Rotary Club at Mexborough.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a gown of delphinium-blue angel skin, and French picture hat, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream roses. The bridesmaids Miss Mary Marks (cousin of the bride), Misses H. E. and E. Guest (sisters of the bridegroom), wore primrose floral georgette with hats to tone and carried bouquets of yellow carnations.
Small attendants were Jean Haldenby and Kenneth Lister. The best man was Mr. Walter Green and the groomsmen Messrs. Ernest and Sidney Jackson.
Afterwards a reception was held by the bride’s parents at the Empress Ballroom, Mexborough. The honeymoon is being spent touring Devon and Cornwall.
